This is the space shuttle for mission STS-96 originally scheduled to launch May 20th, 1999. On May 1st we took this picture from the top of a 4-story observation tower quite some distance from the launching pad. This bird was at the bottom of the observation tower hanging out with his buddies causing trouble and snatching up pretzel crumbs. (Thanks, Doug!) We found out later that the launch date was rescheduled to May 27th because a hailstorm knocked off several of the insulating tiles.
