We adopted Lily from "The Outside Inn", a breeder in Chaska, Minnesota. Lily pecked out of her egg on 6 January 1997. She came home with us in April 1997. Twice a day we fed her Kaytee Exact Handfeeding Formula for Macaws. It seemed best to let her tell us when she was done with handfeeding. After several months she weaned herself off of the morning feeding. We would pump her full of goo every evening and then give her a selection of people food. She also had parrot chow all day, every day. We weighed her every day to make sure she wasn't starving. Carol from "The Outside Inn" answered questions and offered support. It was over 6 months before she fully weaned herself.
